Vane Scott's Bio

A premier after-dinner speaker/entertainer, Vane Scott has been presenting his exciting, entertaining, and widely acclaimed program on, "How we got the flag, and how we got the United States" for over 25 years, and has delighted audiences of all sizes and ages in ballrooms, auditoriums, theatres and arenas throughout America.

He and his wife Barbara co-founded Colonial Flag Co. of Coshocton, Ohio, a division of the largest flag company in the world, after traveling coast to coast for 20 years decorating cities, designing and building entire parades for large celebrations, conventions and motion picture premiers.

Vane Scott helped decorate Washington D.C. for President Eisenhower's first inauguration, and their company, "Great Scott, Displays" was the official decorator, floatmaster, designer, and builder for huge Miss America Homecomings, National JayCee convention, Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrations, Hollywood mothion picture premiers, and hundreds of fair and celebrations, throughout America.

Scott is also a Navy combat veteran, having served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Radford DD 446, one of America's most decorated destroyers. He is the founder and president of the USS Radford's National Association with over 1,400 members. He is a Life Member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disable American veterans, Amvets, and Life Associate Member of Korea War Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America. A Master Mason for Life & 32 Degree Scottish Rite for Life, and Life Member Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, and Honorary Life member Natonsal Sojourners and B.P.O. Elks Life Member. He was designated a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Brereton Jones.

His video, "The Many Faces of Old Glory", "The Concert" is being aired on PBS Television, and is receiving rave reviews in many shools and libraries thru-out America. The U.S. Air Force and Navy uses his video in their JrROTC programs worldwide, and considers it the best video on the subject in America. Scott was also presented the "Spirit of Freedom" award for a lifetime dedicated to promoting patriotism. He is a writer, commercial artist, former big band vocalist, supper-club entertainer, and has appeared many times on radio and television. Recently he has been appearing on the same showbill with some of America's biggest stars, with audiences as large as 20,000 people.
